Volkswagen unveils its largest electric crossover in China

Volkswagen, in collaboration with its Chinese partner Xpeng, has officially launched the ID. Unyx 08. This full-size electric crossover represents a significant milestone in their joint venture, showcasing a fresh approach to electric vehicle development. Reports Ionity.ua.

The new model is priced highly competitively, starting at approximately $34,700, while the top-tier version reaches around $43,400. This makes it more affordable than the smaller ID.4 sold in Western markets, despite offering superior power and advanced technological features.

Measuring five meters in length, the ID. Unyx 08 enters the large family SUV segment. It features a sleek exterior design with narrow LED headlights, dark decorative elements, and an illuminated logo. Built on an advanced 800-volt architecture, buyers can choose between 82 or 95 kWh battery packs.

The base rear-wheel-drive version delivers 308 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive variant boasts 496 horsepower, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. It offers a maximum range of up to 730 kilometers and supports ultra-fast charging, reaching 80 percent capacity in about 20 minutes.

Inside, the crossover is packed with digital innovations, including a massive multimedia system, a separate passenger display, and level-two driver assistance. This launch highlights how Volkswagen is leveraging Chinese partnerships to create highly competitive and affordable electric vehicles.
