Loss in Uzbek art: Dilmurod Islomov passes away at the age of 71

In the Uzbek musical art and the art of doira performance, Dilmurod Islomov, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan and chairman of the public association "Uzbekistan Doirachilari," left an irreplaceable place. He passed away at the age of 71. This news saddened not only the artistic community but also all art lovers of the country.

Dilmurod Islomov was known not only as a master performer but also as a prominent organizer. He was the founder of the nationwide “Zarb Ko‘rik-Tanlovi” and the festival dedicated to doira performance — “Doirachilar Festival.” Through these two major events, he created opportunities for many young talents to showcase their skills.

His scientific and methodological legacy is also of great importance in the cultural life of our country. In 2014, the collection “Ustozlardan Doira Saboqlari” (“Lessons of Doira from Masters”) was published, followed by the 2015 textbook “Maxsus Cholgu (Doira Usullari: Ustozlar Saboqlari)” (“Special Instrument (Doira Rhythms: Lessons from Masters)”), as well as the monograph “Moziydan Sado” (“Echo from the Past”) and numerous scholarly articles published in national and international journals, through which he conveyed the heritage of the masters to the younger generation.

The contributions of Dilmurod Islomov were recognized not only in our country but also in many parts of the world. With his rich concert programs, he performed in more than 100 foreign countries. Through these tours, he widely promoted Uzbek national music and the art of doira performance around the world.

To remember his name and creative heritage with respect, and to instill a love for national music in the minds of young people, remains an important task today. Through his life and work, Dilmurod Islomov left an indelible mark on this path.
