The tragedies experienced by some countries in the Middle East, including Syria and neighboring countries, did not particularly affect Uzbekistan. This happened, according to many, thanks to the wise policy and decisive leadership of the first President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov. Lola Karimova-Tillyayeva, the youngest daughter of the late President, commented on this in a video post on her Instagram page on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of her father's death.
She stated that she does not want to remember her father through personal stories as usual, that she is not ready for this yet, but that over time she is better aware of the correctness of Islam Karimov's advice to her daughter.
"Today I want to express my gratitude to everyone who remembers our first President with love and sincerity. Thank you all. I know that today many people expect a personal story from me, as usual. I'm sure this will be the story you've been waiting for. But I'm not ready to tell it yet, because the story is still going on. I only want to say that today I understand even more deeply how right my father was even in his personal advice. "Perhaps I will tell this story next time," said Lola Karimova-Tillyayeva.
He recalled his father's work, his memory, his own path in the early years of independence, that is, in the 1990s and early 2000s, and his foresight with his wise policy.
"When I look at the world today, I understand even better how right he was in many of his decisions. I think many people will agree with this. At the same time, at times there are attempts to belittle his policy and past. But I can say with firm conviction: our First President saved Uzbekistan from internal conflicts and clashes. While the tragedies that occurred in some countries of the Middle East, including Syria and neighboring countries, bypassed Uzbekistan, it was precisely thanks to its wise policy and decisive leadership. We have the right to thank him for this. "I think this is not just my personal opinion," said Lola Karimova-Tillyayeva.
Karimova-Tillyayeva noted that there are also conversations, false interviews, and activities of various "trolls" trying to discredit the name of Islam Karimov.
"They seem funny and insignificant. Because no one can deny a person who has already found their place in history. Yes, he can be evaluated from different points of view, but most importantly, his work has led Uzbekistan to today's path," said Karimov's youngest daughter.
Continuing his speech, he also emphasized that he values the thousands of people who visit the mausoleum of Islam Karimov in Samarkand and pray for him.
"I believe that the love and prayers of hundreds of thousands of people are a worthy response to the attention and sincere love he has shown to the people throughout his life. This love continues even after his death. Today, I once again express my gratitude to all of you and pray for my father," said Lola Karimova-Tillyayeva.
