A screenplay for the film "Andrei Rublev" by one of the great representatives of Russian cinema, Andrey Tarkovsky, is being put up for auction. The Litfond auction will be held on April 24, the Moscow City Information Agency reported.
The starting price of the valuable lot is 300 thousand rubles. This copy is considered a truly rare exhibit, as it contains the director's personal notes, drawings, and comments about the film.
A number of other artifacts related to the film will also be offered at the auction. Among them are photographs from the archive of producer and artist Pavel Safonov, creative sketches, portraits of Tarkovsky, and photographs depicting one of the filming locations - the Izborsk Fortress.
The film "Andrei Rublev" is about a talented iconographer who lived in the 14th century, showing his spiritual search and striving for creative freedom. Through the three-hour film, Tarkovsky deeply analyzes the human psyche, faith, and Sufism.
