Amazon has officially announced an expanded cast for its “Tomb Raider” series: 11 performers have been confirmed for the project at once. One of the biggest updates is Sigourney Weaver’s involvement—previously reported by insiders and now officially confirmed. This was reported by playground.ru reports .
Weaver will portray Evelyn Wallis, an influential and mysterious woman intrigued by Lara Croft’s abilities. Jason Isaacs, known to audiences as Lucius Malfoy in “Harry Potter,” has also joined the cast: he will play Atlas de Mornay, the heroine’s uncle.
Bill Paterson will play Winston Butler, while Martin Bobb-Semple will portray the tech support specialist Zip. In addition, Jack Bannon, Celia Imrie, John Heffernan, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Julett Motamed, and August Wittgenstein will appear in the series—each playing original characters created specifically for this project.
On social media, some fans posted sarcastic remarks about the casting: some suggested Weaver’s character “won’t step into the field, only clear the way and fly off on an expedition,” while others criticized the choice of photo released alongside the announcement.
