Turkish Star Burak Deniz Arrested

Famous Turkish actor Burak Deniz, known for many top-rated series and films such as “Malikam, Endi Qara” and “Tun Malikasi,” was arrested in Istanbul as part of a large-scale police operation against drugs. This was reported by “Habertürk TV.”

The prosecutor’s office issued a decision to apply detention as a precautionary measure, and so far 11 of 14 people have been arrested. Among them is rapper Ender Eroğlu, known by the stage name Norm Ender.

Recall that on April 7, nine active figures from Turkish show business and cinema, including actor İbrahim Çelikkol, known for the series  "The house where you were born is your destiny," "A Bird's Flight" as well as pop artists Bengu, Simge Sağın, and Melek Mosso, were also arrested. They are suspected of consuming, storing, and distributing drugs.

In recent months, large-scale anti-drug measures have been regularly conducted in Istanbul and other regions of Turkey. Previously, dozens of people, including famous actors, TV journalists, and bloggers, were also arrested. In February, the Istanbul court suspended the operation of the five-star “Bebek” hotel on the Bosphorus coast. According to police data, local elite representatives used drugs at parties in this hotel.

Thus, Burak Deniz’s arrest has become another sensational event in Turkish show business, sparking widespread discussion on social media.
