The three richest people in Asia have been announced

Gautam Adani, the founder and chairman of India’s Adani Group conglomerate, has overtaken Reliance Industries head Mukesh Ambani and regained the title of the richest person in Asia. This was noted in the updated data of the “Bloomberg Billionaires Index” as of today, April 17.

Adani’s total wealth has reached 92.6 billion dollars, allowing him to take 19th place in the global ranking and first place in the region. Ambani’s capital is estimated at 90.8 billion dollars, placing him 20th in the global list.

The main reason for this success is cited as the rise in the value of Adani Group shares. Since the beginning of the year, the shares of the group’s companies operating in energy, airports, and port logistics have increased, resulting in Adani’s wealth growing by 8.1 billion dollars. At the same time, during this period, Ambani’s capital decreased by 16.9 billion dollars. The top three richest people in Asia is completed by ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming (68.7 billion dollars).

On a global scale, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk leads by a wide margin — his wealth is estimated at 656 billion dollars. Second place is held by Google co-founder Larry Page (286 billion dollars), and third place by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (269 billion dollars). Among the richest people in the world, the largest loss was recorded by LVMH head Bernard Arnault — his capital decreased by 44 billion dollars.
