Bibisara Assaubayeva responds sharply to critics

22-year-old Kazakh chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva addressed the complexities of a growing audience and the pressure on social media via her Telegram channel. The athlete stated that her subscriber count increased significantly after the Candidates Tournament, making it much harder to maintain the channel as a "personal diary" as she once did.

Assaubayeva announced that to maintain a warm and calm atmosphere on her page, she will block negative commenters without warning:

"With a large audience, criticism and negative comments always appear. I have gotten used to such situations throughout my career, but I want to maintain a comfortable environment on this specific channel. Therefore, I will simply block any negative feedback directed at me.

I also strictly ask you not to give unsolicited advice about how I live, who I meet, who I befriend, or what I do. I am not obligated to please everyone. If you don't like something, it is better to simply unsubscribe," the chess player said.

For context, the athlete's Telegram channel currently has nearly 20,000 subscribers. Bibisara Assaubayeva is a three-time world blitz chess champion. She most recently won the world title at the end of 2025. At the Candidates Tournament held in Cyprus, she took second place.
