During his visit to the Surkhandarya region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the basalt production line of the Surkhon Sandwich enterprise, located in the Termez district. According to official data, this area is becoming increasingly important in the construction sector today, as large-scale construction work continues at an accelerated pace throughout the country, and the demand for energy saving at large facilities is sharply increasing.
Therefore, the need for basalt raw materials and energy-efficient slabs made from it, as well as modern building materials, is growing every year. Based on this requirement, this enterprise is recognized as a large project worth 26 million dollars. The creation within the framework of the project of a processing capacity of 30 thousand tons of basalt raw materials per year shows how important it is for industry and the market.
According to estimates, this capacity will allow the enterprise to produce finished products worth 345 billion soums. This is an important indicator not only for the domestic market, but also for foreign trade. The company's products are already in demand in Uzbekistan and are being exported to Tajikistan and Afghanistan. This means that this production facility in Termez is gradually becoming an industrial center of regional significance.
Another important aspect of the enterprise is that most of the raw materials are supplied from local sources. It is reported that 95% of the basalt needed for production is obtained from the mines of the Altinsay district of the region. This, on the one hand, reduces logistics costs, and on the other hand, serves the efficient use of local resources. At the same time, the installation of modern Chinese technological equipment at the enterprise also brings the quality of production to a new level.
Most importantly, this project is not limited to economic benefits. The enterprise provides permanent employment for 200 citizens. In modern conditions, the creation of new jobs is an important factor for any region. In particular, the growth of employment along with the development of industry will serve as an additional support for the region's economy.
While familiarizing himself with the production processes, the head of state emphasized the importance of further improving product quality, expanding the level of localization, and strengthening export-oriented destinations. This idea, in essence, also defined the main tasks for the next stage. That is, now the goal is not only to increase production volumes, but also to produce competitive products that can occupy a strong position in the foreign market.
The issue of developing the construction materials industry on a scientific basis was also raised here. In particular, the need to create a research institute for building materials in our country was noted. This indicates the desire to strengthen the development of the sphere not only with practice, but also with a scientific approach, innovation, and new developments.
The President also got acquainted with the presentation of products of the construction materials industry produced in the region. In general, this visit to Surkhandarya was one of the important steps aimed not only at inspecting the activities of existing enterprises, but also at supporting new economic points, increasing export potential, and further activating the region's industry. At the end of the visit, the head of state departed for Tashkent.
