Which regions are leading in fish farming in Uzbekistan?

According to the National Statistics Committee, 21.3 thousand tons of fish were caught by all categories of farms in Uzbekistan in January–March 2026. This is 6.1% more than in the same period last year.
By region, the highest result was recorded in the Khorezm region, where 4.5 thousand tons of fish were caught over three months. The Jizzakh region took second place with 3.5 thousand tons.
It was reported that 3.3 thousand tons were caught in the Tashkent region, 1.7 thousand tons in Andijan, and 1.5 thousand tons in Navoi. Sirdaryo recorded 1.3 thousand tons, and Namangan 1.2 thousand tons.
In the Fergana region, 1 thousand tons of fish were caught. The Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Bukhara region recorded 0.9 thousand tons each, Surkhandarya 0.6 thousand tons, and Kashkadarya and Samarkand 0.5 thousand tons each.
