Lower back pain is not just a sign of old age

Lower back pain most often occurs due to morphological and functional changes in muscle tissues and the skeletal system. These conditions are, in most cases, the cause of discomfort and pain in the lower back area.

In addition, certain gastrointestinal diseases can also cause lower back pain. For example, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, kidney colic, or diseases of the reproductive system (gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, adnexitis) are among them.

In some cases, pain may also develop as a result of cancer or metabolic disorders. A tumor often causes chronic pain, but neurological symptoms are not observed. Osteomyelitis can also be a source of prolonged pain.
