Cold, flu or Covid?

Cold, flu or Covid?
In autumn, colds and coughs increase. It is not the cold weather but the crowding of people indoors that helps viruses spread. Various infections are also brought home from schools and kindergartens.

A cold starts gradually: runny nose, sore throat and mild cough. Flu, however, is stronger, causing fever and muscle aches. With Covid, smell and taste are often lost, along with severe sore throat or diarrhea.

The body fights viruses on its own. Drinking fluids, eating nutritious food and getting rest are also important.

To protect against flu, vaccination is necessary. Especially for children and those in risk groups, the vaccine helps to make the illness milder.
