Ice cream imports to Uzbekistan have increased significantly

In January–March 2026, Uzbekistan imported ice cream products worth 3.3 million USD from abroad. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

It is noted that during this period, ice cream products were imported into the country from 8 foreign nations. The import value increased by nearly 1.9 million USD compared to the same period last year. This indicates a growing demand for foreign ice cream products in the market.

In the first three months of 2026, the largest volume of ice cream was supplied to Uzbekistan from Russia. The volume of products imported from Russia amounted to 275.3 tons.

The following positions were occupied by Kazakhstan with 139 tons, China with 46.2 tons, Belarus with 20.2 tons, and France with 17.6 tons. A total of 13.3 tons of ice cream was imported from other countries.

Countries that supplied the most ice cream to Uzbekistan:

  • Russia — 275.3 tons;

  • Kazakhstan — 139 tons;

  • China — 46.2 tons;

  • Belarus — 20.2 tons;

  • France — 17.6 tons;

  • Other countries — 13.3 tons.

Experts believe that the growth in import volume may be linked to increased choice in the domestic market, a rise in the share of foreign brands in retail chains, and strengthening seasonal demand.

In short, the ice cream market in Uzbekistan is becoming more active. Import value has risen significantly over the year, with Russia and Kazakhstan remaining the primary suppliers. Summer is approaching, which means competition in the ice cream market will be even 'cooler' but exciting.
