Man dies in Chirchiq after defending woman in street attack

In Chirchiq, Tashkent region, a man died after trying to defend a woman during a street altercation, nova24.uz reported. The incident occurred in early March on Navoi Street. The 32-year-old man witnessed a woman being attacked and tried to intervene. The attacker then turned on him and severely beat him.

The victim was taken to the hospital unconscious. He was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, skull fractures, brain swelling, and internal organ damage. He was in a coma and placed on a ventilator. He passed away at 9:00 PM on March 6.

The man was buried on March 7. He is survived by a son. According to the victim’s mother, authorities classified the case as a “street fight,” and she fears the perpetrator may avoid serious punishment.
