In Samarkand, students were made to kneel to apologize

A video showing an incident that took place at School No. 21 located in the Paxtachi district of Samarkand region is being actively discussed on social networks.

In the video, two students can be seen kneeling down and apologizing to another peer.

According to information provided by the Samarkand Regional Department of Preschool and School Education, the incident occurred in April 2024.

The cause of this incident is indicated as student H.T. insulting his classmate E.Y. Later, based on the initiative of the school administration, H.T., along with his sister and with the consent of their parents, was taken to the house of E.Y. to offer an apology. However, E.Y.'s mother demanded that the apology be made while kneeling in front of her child, and this scene was recorded on video.

Law enforcement agencies imposed administrative responsibility on E.Y.’s mother.

In addition, disciplinary measures were taken against the school’s deputy director, the class teacher, and the psychologist who allowed this situation to occur.
