The Ministry of Health warned citizens about fake doctors

Currently, in Uzbekistan, 150 business entities are effectively operating in the field of folk medicine on the basis of the relevant license.

Despite the opportunities provided, the Ministry of Health expresses concern that recently the number of fake doctors is increasing, who, without the appropriate rights, are engaged in diagnosing and treating diseases using unauthorized methods, thereby posing a serious threat to people’s health and lives.

"The worst thing is that our compatriots who want to get rid of diseases quickly, easily, without complications, and most importantly, naturally and at home, are deceived by such people who claim to have 'supernatural abilities,' gain people’s trust in various ways, and offer 'services' that are not confirmed or tested in any way.

It is especially regrettable that social networks are becoming a platform for widely promoting such dubious services, and that their main audience and clients are our fellow citizens who are in difficult life circumstances," the ministry’s warning states.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health warns citizens that advertisements for fake medical practices on social networks and the treatment methods being used do not belong to the methods of evidence-based medicine, and that such fake methods do not correspond at all to the national clinical protocols and standards established for diagnosis and treatment.

Furthermore, it is emphasized that the ministry has not issued any licenses for the activities of individuals involved in the above-mentioned procedures.

For information: in 2024, for carrying out medical activities without a license, each of 38 legal entities was fined in the amount of 300 times the BRV (base calculated value), and as of July 1, 2025, 24 legal entities have been subjected to financial penalties.
