In the Kashkadarya region, strict measures were taken against a driver who grossly violated traffic rules. The incident, which occurred on September 11 in the city of Shakhrisabz, sparked major discussions on social networks.
Video footage showed that other cars stopped to let a student cross the pedestrian crossing, but the driver of the “Damas” did not stop. As a result, the child, trying to run away from danger, lost balance and fell, while the vehicle passed by at high speed. Fortunately, the child did not sustain serious injuries.
According to the Road Traffic Safety Department, the 68-year-old driver who violated the rules was quickly identified, and an administrative case was initiated against him.
The Shakhrisabz city court ordered the violator to pay a fine equal to 25 times the BHM (10.3 million soums). In addition, the driver was deprived of the right to drive vehicles for one year.
Experts emphasize that this incident once again demonstrated the importance of ensuring pedestrian safety, especially for children, on the roads. The public also stresses the need for even stricter measures against such violations.
