In the Boysun district of Surkhandarya region, an unpleasant incident occurred during the distribution of coal to the population for the autumn-winter season. Disorder and conflict arose as a result of some citizens violating the established queue. This was reported by the district administration’s press service.
According to the information, on October 8, disputes and conflicts broke out at a coal warehouse located in the Boshrobot mahalla, where subsidized Angren coal intended for residents was being distributed. Videos circulating on social media showed people arguing with each other, unable to agree on the queue, and blaming one another.
In an official statement, the Boysun district administration emphasized that the disorder occurred because some citizens tried to obtain coal ahead of their turn. “The coal stored in the warehouse is sufficient for all residents, but due to the impatience of certain individuals, a dispute broke out,” the statement said.
According to official data, a total of 278 tons of subsidized Angren coal was delivered to the warehouse and is being distributed to neighborhoods according to a special schedule. Information about the time and procedure for coal distribution was communicated to residents through mahalla and district information channels.
When the incident occurred, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, took measures to calm the citizens, and restored order. After several minutes of disputes, the situation was brought under control, and the distribution process was resumed according to the approved schedule.
The district administration announced that from now on, coal distribution will be carried out strictly according to the set schedule, under the supervision of law enforcement agencies. To prevent similar incidents, local activists and monitoring commissions have been involved in the process.
According to the district police department, some of the videos circulating on social media actually relate to an incident that took place a year ago. Legal measures were taken at that time against the individuals involved.
In the current season, a total of 3,036 tons of coal is planned to be distributed in Boysun district. So far, 1,325 tons have been delivered to the population. Thirty of the district’s thirty-nine mahallas will receive coal, while the rest will be provided with natural or liquefied gas.
Experts believe that such incidents indicate the population’s high demand during winter preparation. However, if accurate accounting and control are not strengthened at the local level, similar disputes may occur again.
Currently, the administration, mahalla committees, and law enforcement agencies are jointly identifying each household’s fuel needs. The goal is to ensure fair distribution so that citizens can pass the winter in peace and safety.
