According to the press service of the State Security Service, the operation of a clandestine workshop producing illegal pharmaceuticals in Namangan city has been stopped. During a special rapid operation carried out by employees of the State Security Service, the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office, and the Customs Department, the workshop of a company manufacturing biologically active supplements was inspected.
However, instead of supplements, the criminals were producing counterfeit pharmaceutical drugs. During the search of the workshop, a total of 138,031 boxes of 9 types of medicines and biologically active supplements were discovered, and their total value was found to be 1.2 billion soums.
In addition, precursors worth 1.8 billion soums, various vials, caps, boxes, and labels worth 3.4 billion soums, and equipment worth 5.6 billion soums were also seized. The investigation revealed that the criminals had received a license to produce biologically active supplements, but in reality, they were manufacturing 9 types of medicines.
In particular, they produced counterfeit drugs under the names "Pivovit" instead of "Pikovit", "Kanaseron" instead of "Kanefron", "Espumetik" instead of "Espumizan", and "Nestitam" instead of "Nystatin". The investigation found that these counterfeit medicines were sold in the Fergana Valley, Tashkent city, and other regions.
Criminal charges have been filed regarding this incident, and investigative actions are ongoing. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
