The press service of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights has issued an official statement. According to the report, the activities of the construction company "Golden House Property Group" have been examined by the committee’s staff.
This was conducted after reports about violations of consumer rights spread on social networks. It was found that in contracts concluded with consumers, the construction company stipulates a penalty of 10% from clients who unilaterally cancel the contract at their own initiative.
In addition, the same penalty is imposed if complaints are made to various authorities and mass media against the company. These rules are explained as being aimed at protecting the business and reputation of the company.
Based on the above, the committee, on the basis of the requirements of Articles 4, 6, 21, and 23 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Protection of Consumer Rights", has given instructions to "Golden House Property Group" LLC to voluntarily eliminate the violations. In addition, according to Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Guarantees of Freedom of Entrepreneurial Activity," business entities are required to comply with laws on competition and protection of consumer rights.
