According to the press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office, an employee of the "Energo Savdo" company has been detained. Employees of the Department’s Yakkasaroy district office, together with representatives of law enforcement agencies, conducted a special operational event.
During the operation, an employee of "Energo Savdo"’s Yakkasaroy district branch was caught while accepting a bribe of 25 million soums. In return for this amount, he promised to refuse to draw up an official report regarding the illegal connection of a hotel building to the electrical network.
Additionally, during the pre-investigation check, it was revealed that this employee had previously received another 10 million soums as an advance from the hotel manager. He had imposed a fine of 70 million soums on the hotel and demanded 50 percent of it for himself.
The identified offense was also recorded by mobile phone video. Regarding this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning the illegal receipt of material assets or financial benefit by employees of state agencies, organizations with state participation, or civil self-government bodies.
