A man with multiple wives was sentenced to prison in Fergana

In Oltiariq district of Fergana region, one of the polygamous men was punished for continuously beating one of his wives. This was reported by a UPL correspondent.

According to the information, a man born in 2001 lived in the same household with two women. In May of last year, despite one of his wives being pregnant, he beat her.

As a result, the woman suffered moderate bodily injuries. The man was initially sentenced to 3.5 years of imprisonment.

However, in September of this year, his lawyers appealed the court decision, expressing their dissatisfaction. The defense emphasized that the man had reconciled with the victimized woman and compensated for the damage caused to her, and asked for the sentence to be reduced.
