On January 24, 2026, a shocking incident was recorded in the Şişli district of Istanbul. At around 7:40 p.m., a citizen who was collecting items among garbage discovered a wrapped body without a head inside a container and reported the finding to law enforcement authorities.
As a result of the initial investigations, the identity of the deceased was confirmed as Hakimova Durdona, a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to available information, two citizens of Uzbekistan suspected of involvement in the crime were detained while attempting to flee from Turkey to Georgia.
At present, the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has established contact with the victim’s family members and is providing the necessary consular and legal assistance. The investigation and inquiry into the incident have been taken under the supervision of the diplomatic mission.
