Over 24 Kilos of Hashish Smuggling Uncovered in Andijan Region

In a major drug bust in Uzbekistan's Andijan region, law enforcement agencies seized over 24 kilograms of hashish. The operation, conducted by State Security, the Interior Ministry, and Customs officials, led to the arrest of a previously convicted individual from Margilan who was receiving the smuggled drugs. Criminal proceedings have been initiated, and authorities are continuing investigations to identify other involved parties.
A large quantity of drug trafficking has been intercepted by law enforcement agencies in Andijan region.
During rapid operational measures conducted jointly by the State Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Customs authorities, drugs illegally brought from a neighboring country were identified.
It was revealed that a previously monitored individual, a resident of Margilan city born in 1973 who had previously been convicted for drug offenses, was apprehended while receiving the hidden substance in Khojaabad district.
A total of 24 kilograms and 475 grams of "hashish" substance, left at a hidden location by his acquaintances, was seized as material evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and a pretrial detention measure has been applied by court decision.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing, with work being conducted to identify other individuals connected to the crime.
