Transferring card data to others will now lead to liability

In today's era, where digital technologies have become an integral part of our lives, the issue of cybersecurity is becoming more relevant than ever. Certain habits that many previously ignored or even considered "simple" can now lead to serious legal consequences. Zamin.uz provides information on the new draft law approved by the Legislative Chamber and the significant changes within it.
Prohibited "generosity": Control over cards and wallets
According to the new draft law, the unlawful provision of information regarding bank cards, electronic wallets, and crypto-assets to other persons will now be strictly punished. Such actions will serve as a basis not only for administrative but also for direct criminal liability. These measures are aimed at preventing cyber fraudsters from committing crimes by using the identities of others.
Security of SIM cards and personal accounts
The legislative innovations cover not only financial instruments but also digital identification tools. In particular:
Illegal transfer of SIM cards to others;
Providing personal accounts and identification data to third parties;
Punishments for cases of using them for malicious purposes are being significantly strengthened.
Banks will now pay for damages out of their own pockets
The most important and welcome aspect of the project for users is the increased responsibility of banks and payment organizations. If a customer's funds are stolen or damage is caused because the bank did not provide sufficient information security, a mechanism will be introduced where the bank or payment organization covers these losses at its own expense. This will encourage financial institutions to protect their systems more robustly.
Investigations will accelerate, punishment will be inevitable
To solve cybercrimes while the trail is still fresh, clear and short deadlines are being established for providing banking information to investigative authorities. Officials who violate this requirement or delay the information will also be held strictly liable. Additionally, separate administrative measures have been established for violating cybersecurity rules in critical information infrastructures (state and strategic objects).
Dear readers, do you think establishing criminal liability for giving a bank card to another person will help reduce fraud? How do you protect your digital security?
