Falsified security reports exposed in Tashkent Region

At an expanded meeting of the Tashkent Region Department of Internal Affairs, the public security system was analyzed critically. The meeting discussed work carried out to ensure regional security, the implementation of technical equipment, and preventive measures. However, inspection results showed that some reports did not fully reflect the actual situation.

It was reported that significant work has been done recently to strengthen the regional security system. Specifically, the establishment of over 400 "model safe streets" and 280 "safe homes" was noted.

Information was also provided regarding the installation of 1,000 surveillance cameras and 700 intercoms in the regions, with an additional 4,800 facilities connected to technical security systems.

However, during the inspection process, it was found that in some cases, the data in official reports did not fully correspond to reality. One of the main problems was the inflation of figures.

Inspectors noted that while some surveillance cameras and intercoms were listed as "installed" in documents, they were found to be non-existent or non-functional in practice. In some cases, old technical equipment was registered as new.

Furthermore, it was noted that the situation remains difficult in over 100 "red" category neighborhoods with high crime rates. Despite reports showing positive changes, problems related to offenses and crime persist in some areas.

Experts believe that such situations can hinder an accurate assessment of the real state of the security system, as indicators that look good on paper mask actual problems.

At the end of the meeting, officials were given strict instructions to rectify the identified shortcomings in a short time, bring technical security systems to a functional state, and ensure transparency in reporting.

It was emphasized that law enforcement agencies and officials must use the local security system effectively not just for reporting purposes, but to ensure the peace and safety of the population.
