4-year-old boy loses arms after electric shock in Mingbulak

A tragic incident in the Mingbulak district of Namangan region has sparked widespread discussion on social media. According to reports, a four-year-old boy suffered severe injuries from an electric shock and lost both his arms. The district administration has provided an official statement regarding the incident.

It is reported that the incident occurred on November 11, 2025, in the "Korikobod" neighborhood. Jamshidbek Kholmatov, born in 2022, was left unattended, entered an unsecured transformer station area, and was struck by a high-voltage electric shock.

Despite urgent medical assistance provided by doctors, it was impossible to save the child's arms. Consequently, both arms were surgically amputated at the elbow.

A court verdict has been issued against the employee of the electrical grid company responsible for the transformer station. He was sentenced to 2 years of correctional labor and a fine of 20 million soums.

Currently, the child is under constant medical supervision and is receiving free medical treatment. He has also been provided with a disability pension and included in the list of those receiving regular medical care.

Furthermore, financial assistance has been allocated to the victim's mother: 60 million soums from the electrical grid company and nearly 50 million soums from the district administration.

Officials are urging parents to be more vigilant with their children and to keep them away from dangerous areas to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
