Heavy rain damages temporary bridge in Akhangaran

In the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region, a temporary suspension bridge was damaged due to short-term heavy rainfall. The incident occurred around 15:02 on May 10 in the Ertoshsoy neighborhood.
It is reported that as a result of heavy rain in the area, water collected from the hills flowed into the Ertoshsoy stream. The water flow suddenly intensified, causing a large volume of water to pass through the stream.
Due to the speed and force of the current, the temporary suspension bridge built by residents for visitors to cross the stream was damaged. This situation could have posed a threat to the safety of visitors.
Upon receiving reports of the situation, responsible personnel from the Emergency Situations Department, Internal Affairs Department, National Guard, local administration, and emergency services arrived at the scene. Security measures were implemented, and the situation was brought under control.
Visitors were moved to a safe area. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no casualties were reported as a result of the incident.
Such incidents serve as a reminder of the need for caution when vacationing near foothills and streams. Especially during spring and summer, heavy rain can cause water levels to rise rapidly in a short time.
Experts urge citizens not to approach streams, rivers, canals, and areas prone to flash floods during rainfall. Recreation is good, but safety is more important. Nature does not wait, so caution is essential.
