A crime that shocked the public has been uncovered in the Navoi region. A woman living in Zarafshan was arrested by law enforcement agencies after attempting to hire a hitman to eliminate her son-in-law.
According to the Navoi Region Department of Internal Affairs, the incident stemmed from family disputes. The 54-year-old woman found two individuals through acquaintances, asked them to "punish" her son-in-law, and offered a large sum of money in return.
Operational officers took control of the situation and planned a special operation. Law enforcement staged the assassination attempt, filmed the process, and sent it to the suspect. This fully confirmed her intentions and actions.
Subsequently, the woman transferred 2.3 million soums as an initial payment of the agreed 40 million soums to the account of the hired individuals. She was apprehended by law enforcement at that very moment.
It is noted that the operation was carried out in cooperation with the State Security Service and local internal affairs units.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 104, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and preliminary investigations are underway.
Experts emphasize that such cases once again demonstrate the grave consequences of resorting to crime instead of resolving family problems through legal means.
