A large-scale drug trafficking case has been uncovered in the Rishtan district of the Fergana region. During a special operation, narcotics hidden inside truck tires were discovered and seized, the State Security Service reported.
According to reports, a Volvo truck arriving from a neighboring country was subjected to a planned inspection. During the search, it was revealed that approximately 20 kilograms of narcotics were skillfully concealed inside the tires.
It was determined that the illicit cargo contained 3 kg 408 grams of opium and 16 kg 405 grams of hashish. They were documented and seized as material evidence.
During the operation, the driver and the individual identified as the recipient were apprehended while carrying out the illegal activity. Subsequently, the recipient's father was also detained as a suspect in connection with the case.
The State Security Service has initiated a criminal case under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. The suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention, and the investigation is ongoing.
