In recent days, a video showing violence against a courier has spread widely on social media, sparking intense public debate. Law enforcement agencies have conducted an investigation into the incident.
According to the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the situation in the video was actually staged as a "prank" by two individuals who were previously acquainted.
It turned out that a person born in 1994, along with his accomplice, filmed this video to increase the number of followers on social media. The clip was later posted on their Instagram page.
In a subsequently released statement, the author of the prank said he did not expect the situation to become this serious.
"We didn't know it would get this serious. We regret what we did," he said.
Regarding the incident, documents were drawn up against these individuals based on the article of the Code of Administrative Responsibility concerning the promotion of violence and cruelty, and the case was sent to court.
