Barcelona reserve goalkeeper Inaki Peña wants to leave the club without a single
The famous Catalan team Barcelona is approaching the farewell of another player. The team's reserve goalkeeper, Iñaki Peña, has decided to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season. This was reported by the Spanish publication Sport.

As it turned out, Peña has another year of contract with Barcelona. However, the goalkeeper does not intend to spend this term at the club and plans to terminate his contract early in the summer and move to another team.

When the main goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen suffered a serious injury this season, the coaching staff expressed confidence and handed the goal to Peña. However, later, head coach Hans-Dieter Flick decided to put Wojciech Szczesny in the starting lineup. Unhappy with this change, Inaki Peña demanded an explanation from the German specialist for this choice.

This situation changed the head coach's attitude towards the player in a negative direction, and in the end, Peña made a definite decision to leave the club.

The Catalan leadership planned to sell him through a transfer and receive additional funds for the team's budget. However, now Inaki will leave the club as a free agent, and Barça will not receive any funds from his transfer.

Hans-Dieter Flick, however, announced that he will continue to trust Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the main goalkeeper next season, and Wojciech Szczesny as the reserve goalkeeper. Therefore, Barcelona is currently looking for a new candidate to fill the position of third goalkeeper.
