Lazarevic: “The expected scenario against Pakhtakor happened.”

After the “Qizilqum” vs “Pakhtakor” match (0:3) in the 10th round of the Super League, the head coach of the Navoi team, Nikola Lazarevic, shared his impressions of the game.

– First of all, I congratulate the “Pakhtakor” team on their well-deserved victory. We knew very well that they are currently playing with high morale. After the coaching change, the team adopted an attacking style and scored 12 goals in their last two matches. Therefore, we expected the “Lions” to play active football, – said Lazarevic.

According to him, the “Qizilqum” coaching staff had prepared a tactical “surprise” against the opponent, and this plan worked in the first half. The team created a number of dangerous opportunities but failed to convert them into goals. In the second half, “Pakhtakor” used their chances wisely and extended the score significantly.

Why was Jumanquziev substituted?

– He was playing well. But he had already received a yellow card and committed two more fouls after that. The referee warned him again, and he could have been sent off. So, we decided to substitute him as a precaution, – explained Lazarevic.

Why didn’t Vahobov and Diyor play?

According to the head coach, Vahobov was injured in the previous match but is expected to return by the next game. Diyor Rakhmatillaev, however, sustained a serious injury during yesterday's training session and won’t be able to assist the team for some time.
