This prestigious competition is considered one of the most important and responsible challenges of the year for judo teams. More than 550 talented athletes from 93 countries around the world will test their strength.
It is encouraging that the Uzbekistan national team is also participating in this major tournament. Our athletes are ready to step onto the tatami for glorious victories. They will face top representatives of world judo in pursuit of medals and ranking points.
On the first day of the competition, matches in the lightest weight categories will be held. On this day, the following compatriots will begin their participation:
In the -60 kg weight category: Bahrom Boturov will first compete against Mongolian judoka Ariunbold Enkhtaivan, and if victorious, will face German representative Maximilian Heider.
In the -48 kg women’s division: Laziza Haydarova will compete against French athlete Shirine Boukli.
In the same weight category, another of our athletes — Halima Kurbonova — will start the tournament against Wong Li of Hong Kong. If she wins, her next opponent will be Belgian judoka Lois Petit.
