Shomurodov and Dovbyk may clash in Istanbul derby

Istanbul-based club Besiktas is considering Roma forward Artem Dovbyk as a priority transfer target, according to Kursiv media.

Sources say that representatives from the Turkish side have already contacted Roma’s management, which recently signed the player.

Initially, Besiktas was targeting Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi, but head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prefers a younger, more dynamic forward.

As a result, the focus has shifted to Dovbyk, who is seen in Istanbul as an ideal partner for English striker Tammy Abraham.

Abraham struggled to secure a place at Milan and may look to restart his career in Turkey.

No official offers have been made yet, but negotiations are ongoing. Roma is only open to proposals that reflect the player’s market value.

Earlier, another Istanbul club — Istanbul Basaksehir — signed Eldor Shomurodov from Roma.
