Another important stage in women’s football — the Uzbekistan national team has accepted the results of the draw for the final stage of the Asian Championship. At the ceremony held on July 29, our compatriots found themselves in Group “B”, and their opponents are North Korea, China, and Bangladesh.
The head coach of our team, Kotrina Kulbite, gave her full opinion about the draw: “There are no easy opponents at this stage. Each of the 12 teams that reached the final stage has its own potential. We have already played against North Korea, and this year we also played against China. We know the possibilities of both teams well. Bangladesh is a completely new opponent for us. We prepare separately for each match. About the first game — against North Korea — it is still early to talk about a specific tactic, but we will try to minimize their strengths and fully use our opportunities.”
Our team’s forward, Lyudmila Karachik, also expressed her thoughts on the group’s situation and the team’s goals: “There are two teams in our group that have won the championship several times, and one of them is the current champion. Playing against such opponents is not only an honor but also great experience. Our main goal is to show our best game and demonstrate to everyone how strong women’s football in Uzbekistan is. The most important thing for us is to use all our opportunities and advance to the next stage.”
