Uzbekistan’s Boxers Shake the Bangkok Ring

Thailand’s capital — Bangkok — these days is hosting the youngest and most promising boxers of the Asian continent. From July 30 to August 12, the Asian Championship among athletes under 22 is taking place, full of exciting and spectacular bouts. Our compatriots participating in the tournament are once again filling fans with pride.

Today, the next important stage of the championship — the quarterfinal fights — was held. Ten young boxers from Uzbekistan's national team entered the ring and advanced to the semifinals. They not only won, but also put their opponents in a difficult situation thanks to their physical and mental preparation, determination, skill, and intelligence.

Here are their heroic performances:

– In the -60 kg category, Odinakhon Ismoilova confidently and dominantly fought against Chinese Taipei’s representative Zhui-Xin Lin and won 5:0;

– In the -50 kg category, Behruz Kholdorov defeated South Korea’s Yojun Kwak with a 5:0 score, leaving no chance to the opponent;

– In the -55 kg weight class, Samandar Olimov thoroughly beat Iranian Nima Bayati — 5:0;

– In another -60 kg bout, Shohrukh Abdumalikov also beat Iranian Mohammadamin Karimi with a 5:0 score;

– In the -65 kg category, Sayat Ilyasov fully controlled the bout against Japan’s Yusaka Matsuhisa and won 5:0;

– In the -70 kg category, Muhammadazizbek Ismoilov technically knocked out Singaporean Ayan Kangan in the second round — this fight was undoubtedly a spectacle for fans;

– In the -75 kg category, Shavkatjon Boltayev won a tough and contested fight against Kazakhstan’s Aman Konsbekov — 4:1;

– In the -80 kg category, Rahmatullo Boymatov knocked out UAE’s Eissa Al Kurdi in the second round, again showcasing strength and confidence;

– In the -85 kg category, Abdulaziz Abdurakhmonov defeated Kyrgyzstani Azim Choibekov with accurate and powerful punches — 5:0;

– In the decisive +90 kg bout, Halimjon Mamasoliev technically knocked out Kazakhstan’s Nurasil Assilkhan already in the second round — a clear display of superiority in the ring.

These results not only reflect our young boxers' skill, but also the effect of attention to sports and systematic training in our country. Especially the younger generation is taking inspiration from these athletes.
