The leadership of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, along with representatives of several sports organizations, visited Manchester during their trip to England and became guests of one of the world’s leading football clubs — «Manchester City».
According to reports, the visit was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of NOC Uzbekistan, Otabek Umarov, the committee’s Secretary General, Oybek Kasimov, the President of the Uzbekistan Judo Federation, Azizjon Kamilov, and the First Vice President of UFA, Ravshan Ermatov. Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the UK, Ravshan Usmonov, also joined the delegation.
During a training session led by Pep Guardiola, the guests had the opportunity to observe the club’s preparation system, modern infrastructure, and methods of working with young players. The presence of talented Uzbek defender Abduqodir Khusanov in «City» gave the visit even greater significance, being regarded as a major strategic step for Uzbek football.
It is worth noting that earlier there were reports that the company owning «Manchester City» was considering purchasing a football club in Uzbekistan. In this regard, this visit and negotiations are seen as potentially opening a new stage of bilateral cooperation, with experts calling it a serious strategic opportunity.
Experts emphasize that if such a project is implemented, it could play a key role in the development of Uzbek football’s infrastructure, youth training system, and the introduction of modern international sports standards.
Fans, meanwhile, are following the visit with great interest, hoping it will open a new page in the history of football in Uzbekistan.
