The head coach of the Oman national team, Carlos Queiroz, shared his views on Uzbek football at a press conference. According to the experienced specialist, the pace of development of Uzbek football in recent years has been clearly felt from all sides.
- I have accurate information about the Uzbekistan national team. I have a good opinion of the team. They grew very much. "A few years ago, we were a few steps ahead of the Uzbeks, but even then I felt that the process of growth had already begun in you," said Keirush.
He noted that systemic reforms are being carried out in the country in the field of football, and this effect is already visible in the results. - Uzbekistan has come to understand in what direction football should be developed. This is now reflected in the results. Your national team has qualified for the World Cup, and a number of your players are confidently showing themselves in Europe. "Development is a long road, but you are moving forward at a rapid pace," the coach noted.
Keirush also noted that several years ago, Uzbek football was in a rather sluggish state, and now a completely different picture is observed: - At one time, Uzbek football was in a "sleep." And now you are acting very quickly and confidently. Other teams in Asia are still "asleep," he added.
According to the coach, achieving results depends not only on the change of coaches, but also on trusting young people and giving them opportunities. - We also brought young players to this tournament. They, like you, are thirsty for football. "We can achieve good results with this," said Keirush.
He also spoke about his compatriot Paulo Bento, who could be appointed as the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team: - Bento is an excellent coach with extensive experience. He is a true professional. His football career was also successful. I wish him only the best. "He's a very strong expert," Keirush said.
