The Ghana Football Association has officially announced the appointment of the famous Portuguese specialist Carlos Queiroz as the head coach of the national team. The 73-year-old experienced manager will now take on the task of preparing the African side for major tournaments and leading them to worthy results on the international stage.
It is reported that Queiroz will lead Ghana at the World Cup, which will take place this summer. His vast experience and work in different countries are expected to be a major advantage for the team.
The Portuguese coach has worked with several national teams throughout his career. He has managed Portugal, Qatar, Iran, Egypt, Colombia, South Africa, and Oman. This makes him a specialist with extensive international experience.
At club level, Queiroz has also worked with major teams. In particular, he was the head coach of Spain’s “Real Madrid” and Portugal’s “Sporting”. In addition, he served as assistant to legendary coach Alex Ferguson at England’s “Manchester United”.
It is worth noting that Ghana’s national team will compete in Group K at the 2026 World Cup alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
