Aytjon Khalmakhanov won the gold medal in the 63 kg weight category at the World Championship held in Zagreb, Croatia in 2025, Kursiv.media reported. This is the first world championship for Uzbekistan in Greco-Roman wrestling in the last 24 years.
In the final match, he fought against South Korean Chung Han-Je and won. The 19-year-old Aytjon is a two-time world champion among youth and has previously triumphed in competitions in Rome and Bulgaria.
