Today, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan held an award ceremony for athletes who defended the honor of our country and achieved high results at the World Weightlifting Championships in Norway.
The heads of the Ministry of Sport, the NOC, and the Weightlifting Federation of Uzbekistan took part in the торжественное мероприятие. The work of the athletes who demonstrated high skill at the championship was duly appreciated.
The most touching moment of the ceremony was the awarding of world champion Akbar Juraev. At the tournament in Norway, he won 3 gold medals in the 110 kg weight category and became the absolute champion. In this regard, he was awarded a Presidential gift - a BYD car and a large cash prize.
The experienced athlete Ruslan Nurudinov, who won two bronze medals at the World Championships, was also not forgotten. He was also awarded prizes.
At the ceremony, along with the athletes, their coaches were also recognized with special respect. The Federation's leadership highly appreciated their dedicated work and efforts that serve as an example for the younger generation.
The NOC leadership emphasized that these achievements in weightlifting are the result of the reforms being implemented in the country's sports system and will undoubtedly give a great impetus to the training of a new generation of champions in this field.
At the conclusion of the event, the athletes were wished to raise the flag of our country high in future competitions and actively participate in the fight for Olympic spots.
