
The boxing competitions at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, reached their final stage, marking a memorable day for Uzbekistan’s boxing fans, reported [olympic.uz].
Our athletes achieved remarkable results in the ring today. In the first session, Abdugani Yorqinjonov defeated all his opponents, claimed the title of Asian Champion, and won the gold medal. At the same time, Qumriniso Muhammadova took second place, earning a silver medal.
In the second session, six more of our boxers competed in the finals, all proudly defending the honor of Uzbekistan.
Rushanabonu Isoyeva (-60 kg) defeated Japan’s Miki Miura by technical knockout in the third round, winning another gold for Uzbekistan.
Ibrohim Shokirjonov (-60 kg) dominated Kyrgyz boxer Zubair Akramov, winning 5–0.
Saidkhoja Sadillakhojayev (-66 kg) lost to Kazakhstan’s Daniyal Shalkarbay and earned silver.
Samira Turgunova (-75 kg) was defeated 0–5 by Kazakhstan’s Kamila Ospanova.
Diyorbek Murodilloyev (-75 kg) beat Iran’s Deyman Sherafatmand 5–0 to become Asian Champion.
Asadbek Sultonboyev (+80 kg) confidently defeated Kazakhstan’s Muhamedali Rustembek 5–0.
Thus, within a single day, Uzbekistan’s national team secured multiple gold and silver medals at the Asian Youth Games. Experts called this a new chapter in the nation’s boxing history.
Representatives of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation stated that these victories will elevate the training level of young boxers to a higher quality stage.
The triumphs in Bahrain’s rings will be remembered as one of the most successful youth performances in Uzbekistan’s sports history.
