The Spanish club "Athletic" (Bilbao) is searching for a replacement for head coach Ernesto Valverde. His current contract will come to an end this upcoming summer.
This was reported by the larazon.es portal. For now, it is unknown whether Valverde will extend his contract with the club or not, so the club is interested in other specialists.
The "Athletic" management primarily considers Andoni Iraola as a candidate for the head coach position. Currently, Iraola's "Bournemouth" team is among the leaders of the English championship.
The club might also offer the position to Iñigo Perez, who manages "Rayo Vallecano", or Eder Sarabia, who is currently in charge of "Elche". The contract with Sarabia is valid until 2027, but Iraola and Perez may become free agents at the end of the season.
Perez, however, has stated that he is satisfied with his current job.
