As we previously reported, on November 8, the Uzbekistan U-17 national football team faced off against Ireland. The match took place in Qatar as part of the group stage of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Unfortunately, the Uzbek players suffered a 2-1 defeat. Despite the loss, many players showcased their skills at a high level.
Notably, the legendary coach Arsène Wenger watched the game from the stands. The French specialist is currently working within the FIFA system.
Football fans know him well as the former head coach of London’s "Arsenal" football club. He made history as the coach who completed an unbeaten season in the English Premier League.
As a reminder, the Uzbek players will face Panama in the decisive group stage match. If they secure a victory, the Uzbekistan team will advance to the tournament’s playoff stage.
