Taekwondo WT at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is reaching its culmination today. After three days of intense competition and high-level preparation, the final day of the competition is expected to be full of the most important clashes in the series. Today, four leading representatives of our national team will compete for medals.
Diyorbek To'xliboyev (67 kg), Marat Mavlonov (+82 kg), Diyora Azizova (63 kg), and Svetlana Osipova (+70 kg) will compete against their opponents in their respective weight categories. Each of them has successfully passed this stage and now has the opportunity to further strengthen the overall team result.
In the men's 67 kg weight category, Diyorbek Tukhliboyev will compete against Kobenan, who represents Côte d'Ivoire, in the 1/8 finals. Diyorbek's fighting style and quick movements at this stage could give him a serious advantage. Although the opponent is experienced, it is clear that the representative of our country will fight to the end for every point.
In the women's 63 kg weight category, Diyora Azizova will compete against one of the strongest candidates of this competition - Iskandarniya from Iran. The technical maturity of Diyora, a prominent representative of the Central Asian school, makes this clash even more interesting.
Men, in the +82 kg weight category, Marat Mavlonov will participate directly in the quarterfinals. His opponent could be Moroccan athlete Elasbi or Pakistani taekwondo athlete Syed. Marat, with his physical superiority and tactical thinking, has the opportunity to reach the top stages of the competition.
In the women's +70 kg category, Svetlana Osipova is also ready to face Nigerian representative Harauna Gouno in the quarterfinals. Svetlana is known as an experienced and resilient taekwondo athlete, so active and confident movements are expected from her in this fight as well.
According to the Taekwondo WT Association of Uzbekistan, today's matches are crucial for our national team. It is natural that the final day of the competition will be full of intense competition, high tempo, and dramatic moments that fans have been eagerly awaiting.
We wish our athletes good luck - each of their victories will undoubtedly raise the flag of our country even higher.
