Frankfurt's "Eintracht" head coach Dino Toppmöller shared his thoughts after the UEFA Champions League Matchday 5 game against "Atalanta." The match between the German club and the Italian side ended with a 0-3 scoreline.
"We didn’t play badly in the first half, creating opportunities for Fares and Mario. If we want to win matches at this level, we need to convert such chances into goals.
The game shifted after Atalanta hit the post twice in quick succession, which gave them a boost. Nevertheless, during halftime, we still believed we could win," the coach said in an interview with the club’s official website.
"Their second goal essentially knocked us out of the game, and from that point on, we couldn’t find the right answers. In the second half, we lacked the final ounce of motivation.
Errors like the one that led to their first goal result in serious consequences at this level." Following this match, "Eintracht" sits in 28th place with 4 points, while "Atalanta" is in 10th position with 10 points.
