Xabi Alonso: Mbappe Is Crucial for Real Madrid

The head coach of Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso, spoke about the importance of French forward Kylian Mbappe to the team. In a recent UEFA Champions League group stage match against Olympiacos (4–3), Mbappe scored four goals, once again showcasing his attacking abilities.

"I really like what Kylian is doing for the team. It's not just about the goals.

His character, his influence on his teammates, every small detail – all of this is very important for Real," said the Spanish coach in an interview with ESPN. In the 2025/2026 season, Mbappe has played 21 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 23 goals and providing 3 assists.

The French forward’s contract with Real Madrid is set to expire in the summer of 2029. His current market value stands at EUR 180 million.
