The Argentine Football Association has decided to impose sanctions on the "Estudiantes" club. This decision follows a protest carried out by the team’s players.
This was reported by the publication Ataque Futbolero. During the guard of honor ceremony organized for the national champions "Rosario Central," Estudiantes players displayed disrespect by turning their backs on their opponents.
As a result, the club president, Juan Sebastián Verón, was disqualified for six months. Players who participated in the incident were suspended from the first two matches of the next season.
Additionally, team captain Santiago Núñez was stripped of his captaincy for three months.
