Billy Bonds passes away at 79
London's West Ham United Football Club has lost one of the brightest figures in its history—Billy Bonds, a celebrated icon of the club, has passed away at the age of 79. This sad news was announced by the club’s press service.

Bonds played 799 matches for the "Hammers" during his 21-year tenure with the club, starting in 1967. He won the FA Cup twice.

In the early 1990s, Bonds served as the team's head coach. Although he did not achieve major successes in that role, after West Ham was relegated from the Premier League in 1992, he managed to lead the club back to the top division. Currently, West Ham holds 17th place in the English Championship standings.
